Layers of Lace

Forever 21 sheer pleated lace dress // H&M lace button up shirt // vintage underskirt // Romwe necklace // Pierre Dumas snakeskin heels

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so excited to finally be on break but unfortunately have to spend it doing college apps. I just submitted by UC app yesterday though, so at least that's one off the list. Hope everyone has a great holiday and eats lots of yummy food! :)

Soft Colors

Purple tulle skirt c/o eShakti // Lauren Conrad ruffle top // Forever 21 sheer shirt and nude pumps

It's almost November, but it still doesn't feel like fall with the temperatures still in the 80s and high 70s. I hope that the cooler weather will come soon since I can't wait to start layering and dressing for fall. I just got new leather skirts and leather pants a while back (well faux since I can't afford the real thing), and I'm dying to wear them. I was having such a dilemma deciding which leather skirt to get and ended up buying both so I would have more time to decide. One is scalloped, and the other is fit and flare. Which one do you think I should keep, and which one should I return?

All Prepped Up

Plaid shirt c/o Front Row Shop // vintage black skirt // thrifted Jones New York backpack // Romwe bow // Scene "Yoshiko" studded ankle strap flats from ShoeDazzle

A preppier outfit for the back to school season! I've been looking for a good plaid shirt for a while now and was really excited to receive this shirt from Front Row Shop. It's super comfy and will be great for fall. Front Row Shop also has a lot of other great products to check out. I've especially been loving all the fishtail skirts in their new arrivals. Also, I've been wearing these shoes non-stop recently. I got them back in spring, and the quality is great. They're really similar to the Zara flats from a couple seasons back, but were, luckily for my wallet, a lot cheaper. :)

Black Floral Dress

Forever 21 floral dress and grey sweater // Romwe pink statement necklace // Vintage belt // Steve Madden "Grettta" heels

I just got sick a few days ago, and it feels terrible. :( Especially since it's been about 90 degrees outside these past few days, and I've been dying from the heat in addition to my fever. Also, I somehow ended up singing to music videos at the top of my lungs while resting which did not help my sore throat at all. Any tips on how to feel better?

Stripe Peplum Top

Ann Taylor stripe peplum top // Vintage skirt // Forever 21 necklace // Kimchi Blue polka dot heels

These are some pictures from when I went to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk a short while back. It was super fun, but the sand was so hot! I hopped around barefoot for a couple minutes before hurrying back to regular ground. This is why I need to get flip flops. However, all my previous flip flops hurt my feet between the big and second toes, so I've been reluctant to buy flip flops recently. I've heard that Havaianas are really comfortable, so I'm thinking of trying a pair. Where would you recommend to get comfy flip flops?

Ruffles and Prints

Elle ruffle and print dress // Elementz stripe shirt // Wild Rose clear cap toe heels

I love prints, and I wear them all the time, but I actually don't know what the print on the dress I'm wearing is called. I was trying to type out the outfit details and was stuck on the print for the longest time. They kind of look like paint dots but it could also be an abstract kind of floral. What would you call it? Also, I'm applying to colleges this year! While college sounds exciting, the admissions process is not looking fun so far. I would love to hear about all your college experiences and how it is. :)

Tulle Polka Dot Skirt

Forever 21 studded peter pan collar shirt // Romwe polka dot tulle skirt // Silence + Noise velvet blazer (UO) // ALDO "Rinks" floral wedges

Yay! School's finally over, and it's summer. :) I can't wait to have some fun and eat ice cream before having to dive into college apps and summer classes. These pictures were actually taken at a theme park that I went to with my family a couple days ago. Most of the rides were for little kids, so I mainly just watched my little sister play, but it was still really fun. I've never been very good with roller coasters and scary rides, but I decided to go on this banana ride that didn't look too scary. It was like one of those pirate ship rides (kind of like this) that you typically see in amusement parks but smaller and in the shape of a giant banana instead of a ship. I went in pretty confident since most of the other riders I saw on the ride before before were kids that seemed to have no problem with it. Plus, what could possibly go wrong in a giant banana, right? Wrong. I was scared out of my wits and screaming in terror the entire time. What a deceivingly cute looking banana boat. Haha, after that the only ride I dared go on was the carousel. Do you guys like scary rides? If you do, tell me your secrets of how not to be afraid.

Studs and Slits

Daisy Fuentes grey shirt // Nordstrom BP sheer stripe maxi skirt // Chicnova necklace from giveaway // Studded clutch c/o Handbag Heaven // Target braided sandals

Yay, AP testing is over! I can't wait for summer after finals. It was really windy yesterday. Haha, my hair was flopping all over the place when I was taking the photos. But I love wearing this skirt on windy days because it has such great movement thanks to the slits. And lots of thanks to the lovely people at Handbag Heaven who sent me this clutch; I love the stud detailing. Handbag Heaven has a great selection of bags so be sure to check them out!

Unknown cardigan // Vintage polka dot blouse // Forever 21 stripe scarf from gift exchange// AEO floral jeans // Pierre Dumas snakeskin heels

You can never go wrong with jeans, scarf, and a cardi for a casual outfit. All pieces are comfy and add a relaxed feel. I feel like scarves in particular are great for creating casual looks. Sometimes I'm deciding whether to use a statement necklace or scarf, and the effect is totally different. I also like knotting my scarves for a slightly different look. And I didn't notice until now, but I'm wearing four different prints! Print mixing is so fun since just about all prints look good together. :)

Polka Dots and Roses

Mom's polka dot skirt worn as dress // Romwe tattered rose sweater // Kimchi Blue cap toe wedges (UO)

I was super excited to get this sweater on a special sale a while ago since it looks so similar to the Wildfox rose sweater! My mom says that it looks hobo-esque, but I rather like the destroyed details of the sweater. :) Plus, I love how it's slightly sheer so you can still see the polka dots underneath. I often "borrow" my mom's clothes, but unfortunately a lot of them don't fit quite right so I end up wearing them in other ways, like this skirt as a dress. Too bad I can't really figure out what to do with the jackets that are too big. And I think this bow used to be a belt or sash for the skirt, but I like wearing it as a bow. Recently I've been having a slight, read major, obsession with bows. From actual bows to bow prints, they're so cute! I really want a bow print dress or something now!

Floral Applique

Floral applique dress c/o Sugarlips // Forever 21 stripe top // Vintage maroon button up // AEO perforated floppy hat // Lulu's studded shoes

I feel like it's summer already with the sun so bright and everyone wearing hats. I went to the zoo with my little sister today and almost half the people there were wearing sunhats! I got this hat last autumn and love how it has perforated holes so that the sun shines through. And how love is this dress! I was already sold after seeing the flowers in front, and just about died when I saw the back. I'm always reluctant to wear a jacket over this dress since I feel like covering the back would not be doing it justice. Haha, so instead of wearing a jacket, I sometimes just layer a bunch of shirts underneath when it's cooler.

Princess Tulle

Dress c/o eShakti // Forever 21 sheer shirt, necklace

I love this dress from eShakti! It's super fun, and I always feel like a princess when wearing it. :) It even has pockets which I always appreciate in dresses. It uses a stiff tulle, so it really holds its shape and adds a lot of volume. The tulle part is actually a separate skirt in itself, so you can also wear it under other dresses or by itself. eShakti is a great retailer from which you can get clothes customized to your specific size for the perfect fit. They also let you adjust the length and other features such as the sleeves or neckline. Be sure to check them out, and use the code FLYELEPHNT for 20% off at eShakti through 3/20/13!
