Sky Print

Zara sky print dress // H&M lace shirt // Charlotte Russe feather necklace worn as bracelet // Steve Madden shoes

Sorry for the lack of post last week. I've been busy lately with school starting. :( But I love this new dress! I've been wanting something sky print for ages, and this is so comfy and effortless. I wore it with this lace top because I thought the scalloping on the bottom and created a cloud-like effect. :) I was originally planning to wear this with a blazer for a different kind of look, but I was feeling vintage today. Plus, I have a similar dress that goes well with the blazer. Hopefully I can get that up later! But I'm almost afraid to wear that dress anytime I have to sit somewhere. I feel like I might unpleat it with even the slightest wrong touch! It's not the best quality, but has anyone else ever had that problem before?

Colorblock Dress

Colorblock cutout dress c/o Sway Chic // H&M collar necklace, t-strap heels

This dress is probably the only colorblocked garment that I own. And now that I think about it, it's also the only piece I have with cutouts! Haha, late to the scene but at least I made it? :) It's such a bold dress that I didn't feel the need to add much else. (Plus, it was sizzling hot and I wasn't quite in the mood to do any layering. You should have seen how relieved I was when I finally found an area with shade!) Also, I wanted to create a sleek ponytail for this look; I figured that it wouldn't be too much more difficult than a regular ponytail. However, the hair styling gods were not shining down on me, and I ended up failing miserably. Well... at least it was better than my braiding! But other than my failed hair endeavors, special thanks to the lovely people at Swaychic.com who were kind enough to send me this stunning dress. Sway Chic offers a great variety of clothing and accessories at affordable prices, and everyone should definitely check it out!

Honeydew

J Jill jacket // Aerie striped sweater // Vintage jeans // H&M neon heels

It was a little cooler than usual, and I was all too ready to break out the layers! Recently I've been loving light green with yellow. It creates a really fun honeydew look! And someone please inform me about the Olympics! I actually haven't seen much of anything so far, so I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me some of the best parts to watch.

PS: A friend of a friend has recently started a business where she splatter paints old jeans and shorts. If you're interested, feel free to email her at lizzieslaxin23@gmail.com for more details!

Fall

American Eagle open knit sweater // Vintage burgundy button up shirt // Harajuku Mini tartan pants // Simply Vera chain necklace // ALDO velvet heels

I went to San Francisco over the weekend and  finally had a chance to wear a fall outfit! I originally wore this with a skirt, but had to change because it was too cold. (Good thing I came prepared with 2 pairs of pants!) I still have maybe 2 or 3 summer outfits that I want to post, but other than that, I can't wait to dive into fall! I have this rust colored dress a great sequin skirt that I'm dying to wear. (It's never too early for a little holiday sparkle!) I'm also obsessing over this burgundy shirt. I got it for $1 at a garage sale, and the color and feel are perfect for fall!

Feather Bow Tie

Covington blouse // Vintage skirt // Our House Vintage and Design feather bow tie necklace from giveaway // Charlotte Russe polka dot pumps

I thought that this feather bow tie was a really fun accessory so I whipped up a cute little ensemble that kind of reminds me of a candy store! (I'm not sure if he even wears a bow tie, but it reminds me of Willy Wonka.) :) And in other news, I can't wait for fall! I'm always so tempted to wear my fall outfits when it's still eighty degrees outside! But while I don't think that it'll be getting chilly anytime soon in sunny California, at least it gives me time to get some much needed fall/winter neccessities. A good pair of boots, a leather jacket, I have a lot of shopping to do! (And unfortunately on a very tight budget!) Wish me luck!

Mint Duster

Vintage mint duster, speckled maxi skirt worn as hi-lo dress, metallic lavender belt // Steve Madden "Grettta" heels

I love dusters and long, flowy outerwear! I was slightly hesitant to buy this duster at first, since I had gotten a somewhat similar sheer duster (seen here) just a few months before. But I had nothing else mint colored (gasp) and it was only $5, so I figured why not. It's not very noticable in these photos, but the duster has slits on the sides, so there's really nice movement when the wind blows. I'm always a fan of clothes with great movement! I really want to get a long kimono jacket next, maybe one with fringe!

Beaded Leather Shorts

Forever 21 sheer shirt, leather shorts // H&M clear strap sandals, bodycon skirt (from this post) worn as tube top

I was searching for a pair of black leather shorts for winter, but came across these instead. The light blush / nude shade made it ideal for spring and summer and I couldn't resist the beaded detailing! Leather shorts are great for days when it's too hot for pants, but still a little chilly out. I also love the soft, buttery feel, which makes them super comfy! But while I'm set for summer and maybe some of fall, I'm still on the quest to find the perfect leather shorts for winter. (Yes, I'm already starting to build my winter wardrobe! You know you were ready to rock those spring pastels while freezing in January.) I'm looking for a pair in a darker color like black or burgundy. If I'm lucky, I might be able to find one with studs and it can act as a counterpart to this pair!
